The National Real Estate Institute (NREI) provides certified training courses in housing counseling education.
NREI’s objective is to deliver courses that develop and increase the expertise of housing counselors, enabling them to provide the most up-to-date information and advice to consumers. This is achieved by providing a solid base of real estate and housing-related knowledge, empowering the student to use good judgment and make logical assumptions even when complicated scenarios arise. The NREI strategy is to provide a holistic approach to education and training. Our courses are geared towards counselor mastery of foreclosure intervention and allowing them to meet the minimum performance standards in providing advice, coupled with hands-on counselor mentoring.
The aim of NREI’s training is to increase counselor performance, which results in increased positive consumer outcomes. We believe that mastery of the presented concepts and practices will lead to increased performance. This, in turn, will increase the counselor’s ability to provide advice to consumers and achieve positive outcomes.
NREI encourages the application of counseling approaches that employ relevant strategies, techniques, laws, special provisions and regulatory requirements that affect their consumers. In addition, counselors learn how to provide guidance on how to apply these laws and negotiate with respect to these matters.
Theory & Practice-Based Model
NREI uses tested teaching methods that promote instinctual learning for the student. The NREI method and approach has been developed for its effectiveness. Because this method promotes instinctual learning, instruction results in mastered absorption that increases the student’s analytical skills and encourages trust in the use of common sense, applied logic, and reasoning.
NREI provides a learning environment that ensures a solid base of knowledge and promotes long-term retention.
